What is Target Site Duplication (TSD)?
“When transposons are inserted into the host genome, it generates duplicate copies on both ends of the insert known as Target site duplication. Learn about the target site duplication and
Non-Replicative (Cut and Paste) Mechanism of Transposition
“The excision of a transposon from a native location followed by its integration at another location in a host genome is referred to as a non-replicative mechanism of transposition.” The

Replicative Transposition of DNA Transposons and Retrotransposons
During each round of replicative transposition, a transposon is duplicated (replicated) and inserted in a new position. Both DNA and retrotransposons follow the replicative mechanism of transposition.Tn3, phage Mu are

Role of Transposons in Evolution of Eukaryotic Genome
“The transposons are mobile genetic sequences that can move from one place to another place in a genome.” “The transposons are the missing link in the path of evolution of

6 Types of Transposons in Eukaryotes
“Common eukaryotic transposons are P element and retrotransposons in drosophila, Ac/Ds and Spm/dSpm in Maize, Ty element in yeast, and retrotransposons (LINEs & SINEs) in humans.” Transposons, often known as
